The annual 10-day Florida Python Competition (Website) is currently in full swing. It launched on July 11 and runs through July 20, offering professional and novice snake hunters a chance to win $25,000 in cash prizes for capturing and removing invasive Burmese pythons from public lands.
There is a $25 registration fee, but you get the chance to win a $10,000 Ultimate Grand Prize for removing the most snakes. There’s also a category for longest snake, which is such a bro move.
The program has resulted in the removal of more than 23,000 pythons since 2000.
To participate, go to FLPythonChallenge.org, select your category (Novice or Professional), enter your personal information and the training completion code you receive from completing an online training course, and agree to the rules and liability waiver
